Description
Lovers Point is a popular gathering spot in Pacific Grove California for swimming, kayaking and surfing. It’s a common wedding venue and was used at least once as a site in the dramatic series, “Big Little Lies”. The view that I chose is looking Northeast towards Stanford University’s Hopkins Marine Station with the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery row in the background. The cool waters of the bay are seldom warm enough for a casual swim but on the rare hot days, the small strip of protected beach below the Lovers Point Grill is crowded with locals and tourists. Normally only the young kids with good circulation spend more than a few minutes in the water. In the winter when the waves are just right, surfers will brave the treacherous rocky shoreline. I like that the bars in the wrought iron fence seem to validate the name of the small kiosk … ‘The Grill”.
