I’ve spent a lot of time photographing this beautiful little park in the heart of Monterey near Del Monte State Beach. They say nearly 300 species of birds either live here the year round or just pass through on their migrations. The El Estero Presbyterian Church in my painting sits opposite a little bridge that crosses one branch of the horseshoe-shaped lake. The scene is especially beautiful at sunset and at night. This was one of my very first watercolors and it was nearly ten years later when I picked up the brushes again.
