Description
My wife, Lydia took this picture on her cell phone while we were hiking through a dense oak grove on Fort Ord National Monument. It’s hard to get a butterfly to pose but Lydia chased him and eventually got a good picture. We had no idea what species it was til we looked it up. There are several species of butterfly ‘Sisters’ so named because the black and white areas mimic a nun’s habit.
