Description
While enroute to Montana to meet my family for a college football game, I passed this scene (minus the moose) at Island Park, Idaho near Yellowstone Park. With the kickoff time rapidly approaching, I rushed through that beautiful area even though it’s one of my favorite places on earth. At the Buffalo River, I pulled over just long enough to snap a quick picture. Then when I eventually started to paint, the scene literally cried out for a moose. Normally, I paint from my own photos but I didn’t have a good moose. So, I used a photo my Dad took at the Headwaters of the Missouri River in Three Forks Montana a few years ago. And that Montana moose seems right at home standing in an Idaho river.
