My sister took a casual snapshot of Bennie napping on her glasstop sewing machine table next to a christmas cactus. Everything about her photo was great, the composition, theme, colors etc. So, I sat down on a Sunday morning to see if I could paint it as a watercolor. Sometimes, things just fall into place. By the afternoon, I sent her a shot of the completed painting. BTW, my nephew is responsible for Bennie’s clever name. The cat’s main physical characteristic is a dark spot shaped like a fighter aircraft. Thus, “Bennie … and the Jet(s)” like the Elton John song.
